I wanted to briefly talk about some major lessons I’ve learned over my years as a personal trainer, online coach, and business owner.
You are never going to look like the person you may aspire to look like. You are not them and they are not you. The sooner you stop putting so much of your energy into wishing, the much better off you will be. Plus, you can put that energy where it belongs: becoming the best version of yourself!
It is, and always will be, an accumulation of all of the foods eaten over time and whether or not it puts you in a surplus. Going out to have some pizza or ice cream will not ruin your progress, it does not make you a cheater, and should not have a negative impact on your self-worth. It’s just food. Eat what you enjoy, be mindful and keep your goals in mind.
Too many times, especially with social media, there are people claiming a million and one things around food. Trendy diets, “cures”, fat loss supplements, you name it. Remember, even if they have a Dr. in front of their name, it doesn’t mean they’re not full of shit and just trying to make a buck.
Sure they love you, and yea maybe they mean well. But if you are trying to accomplish something for yourself, they don’t have the right to tell you not to “get too skinny” or make fun of you for picking healthier options. You have to look out for yourself and be unapologetic in your pursuit of your goals. Nobody else is going to care about them as much as you do (well, other than me!)
Everyone has a story about how something worked for them even though, in reality, there is no evidence that such a product/supplement actually works. The placebo effect is powerful and it is important to recognize when there are actual credible sources or just someone attached to products they take. Do not take them just because they say that it works (most supplements do not work).
My job is to steer you clear of a lot of the garbage that surrounds this industry and keep you on the path to success!
That means not focusing on external motivations/supplements/small details that do not lead to much return on investment.
